I’m a professional Wedding DJ specialising in young and fun celebrations. I’m well known for getting the party started and keeping the dance floor full all night long without playing cheesy songs. At 37 years young I have the ability to connect to any crowd, young or old.

I cater for all ages during the evening and play well known songs which have been absolute hits over the years. A normal set will include all the latest and greatest hits currently on the airwaves (Pop , dance, alternative, rock and Indie) and pop and rock classics from the last few decades (60’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s).

My reputation was built on excellent service and reliability but most importantly great music. I love what I do and look forward to being part of your celebration.

Brendon Funnell

If you are planning a fun and unique celebration, then allow me to introduce myself – I am Brendon Funnell, also known as DJ BENNY.
I’m a confident, capable and professional Mobile DJ and MC with an affinity for public speaking, good at getting crowd participation, and great at providing a well rounded variety of music for ANY function and age group.

I’ve been Djing for over 15 years now, covering a wide variety of functions and venues all over Kwa-Zulu Natal.
Although I can entertain at any function, I have chosen to specialise in wedding ceremonies and receptions in Durban, KZN Midlands and the North Coast.
A positive and professional attitude to my work is what it’s all about for me and I do whatever it takes to make sure that all my events are successful and memorable for my clients. This attitude is the reason why the majority of my workflow is by referral from my past clients, a fact that I am extremely proud of.

My music playing style includes a whole variety of the well known and loved commercial pop music from the radio hits of the sixties right up to the naughties (2000’s and beyond), and then everything in between including Indie, Rock and alternative, House and Dance as well as a variety of local favourite music – Afrikaans, African, Indian, Greek and Portuguese.

It is always important to factor in the requests of the client before hand, as well as the requests made by the guests at the event (at my discretion) as this ensures that everyone is catered for and all have a good time. Overall, the majority of the playlist should be left up to your DJ – rely on my experience to read the dance floor and play the right music to keep everyone dancing.

The style of music I play is a continuous and upbeat music selection that makes people dance. Having had vast club experience in the early 2000’s, I offer an experience most Wedding and Corporate DJs in South Africa cannot offer – instead of merely “cross fading” between tracks, I “beat mix” all the music together to create a seamless flow and constant rhythm, keeping everyone dancing and enjoying themselves without any awkward silences between songs.

I WILL NOT EVER play super cheese, so if you are into the macarena, mambo no5, chicken dances, raining men, loco-motion or the like, please move right along. There is FAR too much good music available, and if a DJ really knows his music there should never be a need to resort to the super cheese.

Grant Boonzaier

Starting out as a young DJ in Howick in the early 90’s, in the Midlands, and then DJing at a pub called Cobwebs in the Fern Hill Hotel, I moved on from those humble beginnings to good ol’ Da Vincis Restaurant, doing Weddings and functions in Pietermaritzburg and Durban in the late 90’s, and just over 10 years ago made Durban my home.
Over the years, I have become a specialist DJ, focusing mainly on being a Wedding DJ, but also various corporate events/launches, birthday parties, and the like. I also work extensively with DJ Damon Beard from East Coast Radio, doing corporate DJ functions with him as well as his renowned Ladies Night in and around Durban. The secret to my success must be my “music wisdom” that allows me to mix tracks, that are not only popular favourites, but range the past 50 years including the latest dance floor tracks that have only been out 5 mins, with the greatest of ease and natural flow.
My extensive experience, professional demeanour and vast collection of various genres of music guarantees a memorable experience, from booking right through to the end of your wedding or event! You can rest assured that you will be in good hands.
Over the past couple years I forged a good friendship and music relationship with The Wedding Dj crew, and am very excited to have now come on board to compliment the team, and add some 19 years and over 500 events of experience to the mix!

Kevin McKune

From humble beginnings learning the trade on turntables spinning vinyl records cemented my passion for DJing. Even though I’m now mixing the best party music for young and old on the latest high-end digital gear, I’m always focused on the most important part of any event – the guests.

I pride myself on tailoring each and every wedding to my clients specific requirements. Everyone is unique, and so your wedding celebration should be too. A day of happy memories to remember for years to come.
I use only the best sound and lighting equipment. The likes of Pioneer, JBL and Martin Lighting to name but a few.
I see weddings as my forte’ having supplied mobile DJ services to high profile weddings like that of Rugby World Cup player, Butch James, to small and intimate weddings with 50 guests. I aim to exceed expectations at any function, party or event that I play at.
