In all my years of DJ'ing at weddings, this game definitely stands out for me as one of the best ways to get crowd interaction during a reception. It's a great way to keep the energy high in the room before the party kicks off. Please make sure this is done before the dance floor opens.
Instead of the traditional garter or bouquet toss, consider hosting a scavenger hunt elimination game at your wedding reception. This interactive game can involve all your guests and create memorable moments.
HOW IT WORKS
The MC will announce the start of the game and explain the rules. Guests who were going to line up for the garter and bouquet are asked to find a list of items. Some of these items they might have on hand, and others they’ll need to hunt for around the reception venue.
The twist is that the last person to return with an item, or without it, gets eliminated from the round. The game continues with new items for each round until only one person remains. The winner gets the bouquet as a prize!
This game is a great way to get your guests laughing, interacting, and having a great time. It’s a unique alternative to the traditional garter and bouquet toss and will surely be a hit at your wedding reception!
Remember to choose a variety of items for the scavenger hunt to keep it interesting and challenging. The items can range from common things like a driver’s license or credit card, to more specific items like a blue tie or a brown belt. The goal is to make the game fun and engaging for all your guests.
Suggested list of items
Here's a list of items which should be readily available somewhere in the room. Crowd participation is definitely required.
Drivers licence (Could be their own) Breath mints Business card R5 coin Salt shaker Credit Card Red lipstick Clear lip balm Aspirin Wrist watch Brown belt Specific colour tie Black shoe Sunglasses A selfie with someone (a barman for example) Wedding program Lotto ticket
Have a look around the room before the game starts, you'll definitely find some more common items in the room to add to the list.
As they said in The Hunger Games, "May the odds be ever in your favour"
